We gave a Kia Sorento a 2-inch lift and powder-coated its wheels gloss black — a clean, budget-friendly transformation that takes a family crossover from ordinary to genuinely sharp, with a bit of extra clearance for light dirt roads.
This Sorento came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO for a subtle build. Not every vehicle needs a big lift — sometimes a couple of inches and a wheel refresh is exactly the right amount. We lifted it 2 inches for a bolder stance and a little more clearance, then powder-coated the factory wheels black to finish the look for a fraction of the cost of new wheels.

A little lift goes a long way
Two inches is enough to change a crossover's whole look — it lifts it off the ground, closes the wheel gap, and gives it a more capable stance for light dirt and snow. Paired with the blacked-out wheels, the Sorento reads a lot tougher than it did stock, without the cost or ride penalty of a big lift.
Powder coating instead of new wheels
Powder coating the factory wheels black is one of the best-value moves in a build — a durable, factory-quality finish that transforms the look for far less than a new set of wheels. It is also tougher than paint, so it holds up to curbs and weather. A smart way to finish a subtle build.
Common questions on this build
Can you lift a crossover like a Sorento?
Yes — a modest lift adds stance and a little clearance for light off-pavement use, while keeping the comfortable ride a crossover is bought for.
Is powder coating wheels worth it?
Yes. It transforms the look for a fraction of new-wheel cost, and the finish is more durable than paint. It is one of the best-value upgrades we do.
Can you do a subtle build on my vehicle?
Yes — a small lift, a wheel refresh, and tires can transform a vehicle without a big budget. We do it in-house.
