Lexus GX460 Leveling Kit Install

A 2nd-gen Lexus GX460 came in for a leveling kit — raising the front to match the rear and evening out the factory nose-down stance. It is one of the simplest, highest-impact upgrades you can do to a GX, and it leaves room to size up the tires later.

This GX460 came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO. Like most SUVs, it left the factory sitting slightly nose-down, with a big gap over the front tires. A leveling kit fixes that: it lifts the front end up to sit level with the rear, which cleans up the stance and gives the truck a more planted, purposeful look without a full lift. This one kept its factory wheels and tires — the level alone squared the whole truck up.

What a leveling kit does on a GX460

From the factory the GX sits with the front lower than the rear — a rake built in for load carrying. A leveling kit raises the front the small amount it takes to sit level, closing the wheel gap up front and squaring the truck's stance. It is a targeted change: no rear lift, no re-gearing, just correcting the nose-down look and freeing up fender clearance.

Leaves room to size up later

One of the reasons leveling is so popular is what it sets up down the road. This GX stayed on its factory wheels and tires, but the leveled front end opens clearance to run a larger, more aggressive all-terrain whenever the owner wants to go there — no additional lift required first. Leveling now, bigger tires later is a common, clean path for a GX headed toward light overlanding.

A clean, reversible upgrade

A leveling kit is popular because it delivers most of the visual and clearance benefit of a lift for a fraction of the complexity. It bolts to the factory suspension and can be undone if the truck is ever returned to stock. For a lot of GX owners it is exactly the right amount of change.

Common questions on this build

Does a leveling kit hurt the ride?

Done right, no. A modest front level keeps the factory ride quality while squaring the stance and adding tire clearance.

How big a tire can I run after leveling a GX460?

Leveling opens up room for a larger all-terrain than stock. The exact size depends on wheel offset and whether you want zero rubbing at full lock — bring us your setup and we will spec it.

Is a leveling kit enough, or should I do a full lift?

For stance and a bigger tire, leveling is often all you need. If you want more clearance and travel for serious off-road use, a full suspension setup is the next step. We do both.
