Mercedes G-Class: Le Tech Lift, Skid Plates & Spare Rack

We built out a Mercedes G-Class with a Le Tech 50mm lift, Le Tech stainless-steel skid plates over the engine, transmission, and fuel tank, a Le Tech roof spare-tire rack, and BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrains — turning an already-iconic SUV into a genuinely trail-ready one.

This G-Class came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO for a full off-road package. The G is one of the most capable SUVs ever built from the factory, but it is also expensive to fix if you drag the underside — so armor and a little lift go a long way. We fit the Le Tech lift, skids, and rack, and wrapped it in KO2s to make it as tough underneath as it looks.

Armor where it counts

The whole point of building a G for the trail is protecting what is expensive to break. The Le Tech skid plates cover the engine, transmission, and fuel tank — the low, vulnerable hardware that a rock finds first. On a vehicle like this, underbody armor is not just capability, it is insurance.

Lift, tires, and a spare up top

The 50mm lift opens clearance and makes room for the KO2 all-terrains, which trade the factory street tires for real dirt and snow traction. The Le Tech roof rack carries a full-size spare up top, keeping it out of the cargo area and ready for the backcountry. Together it makes a G that can actually use its capability.

Common questions on this build

Do you build and armor European SUVs like the G-Class?

Yes. Lifts, skid plates, racks, wheels and tires — we install off-road packages on any platform, including the G-Class.

Why skid plates on a luxury SUV?

Because the underside is just as exposed as any truck's, and the repairs are far more expensive. Skid plates protect the engine, transmission, and fuel tank from the rocks that would otherwise total your day.

Can you build my SUV for overlanding?

Yes — armor, lift, rack, and tires, spec'd and installed in-house.
