A 2019 Ford Ranger came in riding rough on a 6-inch spacer lift. We pulled the spacer and installed a proper 6-inch-compatible Rough Country strut in its place — same height, dramatically better ride. A great example of why the shock matters more than the spacer.
This Ranger came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO because it rode harshly after a previous lift. The culprit was a spacer setup — it had the height but nothing to control it, so the ride suffered. We removed the spacer and fit a 6-inch-compatible Rough Country strut, keeping the lift height while giving the front end a real damper. The owner got a smoother, more controlled truck without losing an inch of lift.

Why a spacer rides worse than a strut
A spacer lift simply pushes the body up on the factory strut — you keep the tired original damper and just sit higher, which usually makes the ride worse. A real strut built for the lift height controls the suspension properly, so it rides smooth at the new height instead of crashing over bumps. Same look, completely different feel.
