About Toyota 4Runner Skid Plates from Juggernaut USA

The 6th-gen 4Runner (2025+) rides on the same TNGA-F platform as the 4th-gen Tacoma, and underneath it the mounting points line up. These are the same plates we have been cutting and shipping for the Tacoma — a design already proven on trucks in the field, not a first run on a brand-new platform.

Engine, transmission and transfer-case plates, each CNC plasma-cut from 1/4-inch 5052-H32 aluminum, press-brake formed, MIG welded and powder coated black in our Wheat Ridge, Colorado shop. Every plate bolts to factory mounting points — no drilling, no cutting, no modification.

Hybrid and non-hybrid are different parts

The i-FORCE MAX hybrid packages its battery and hardware differently underneath than the non-hybrid 2.4L i-FORCE turbo, so the transmission and transfer-case plates are cut to suit. Pick your drivetrain on the product page and you get the plate that fits it — there is no universal part here pretending to cover both.

What fits what

  • Engine skid — fits 4x4 and 2WD. Covers the oil pan and steering rack, with access left open so an oil change does not mean dropping the plate.
  • Transmission skid — fits 4x4 and 2WD, in hybrid and non-hybrid versions.
  • Transfer case skid — 4x4 only, for the obvious reason. Hybrid and non-hybrid versions.
  • Full package — all three plates for 4x4, priced below buying them separately.

Aluminum instead of steel is a deliberate choice, not a cost one. Resistance to permanent bending scales with the square of plate thickness, which is why 1/4-inch 5052 outperforms the 3/16-inch steel most kits use at roughly half the weight — and it cannot rust the way a scratched steel plate does through a Colorado winter. We ran the numbers in our aluminum versus steel comparison. New to underbody armor? Start with what a skid plate is and whether you need one.

Every plate carries a lifetime warranty and ships free to the lower 48. Not sure which drivetrain you have, or want it fitted? Call or text (970) 341-4221 — we build these in Colorado and install them here too. Also shopping the truck? See our Toyota Tacoma skid plates.
