Overland Outfitting in Denver, CO
Rooftop tents, racks, drawers, lights, power, and armor — the full overland build, integrated so it works together and the suspension carries the weight. Trucks, SUVs, and vans. Lifetime labor warranty.
Build a rig that actually goes
Overland outfitting is kitting a rig to sleep, cook, carry, recover, and actually get there and back. We build the whole thing — roof racks and rooftop tents, drawer and storage systems, dual-battery and solar power, auxiliary lighting, on-board air, recovery gear, awnings, and armor — and we integrate it so it works as one build instead of a pile of bolt-ons that fight each other.
The part most shops skip is weight. A loaded overland rig can add hundreds of pounds, a lot of it up high, and that changes how the vehicle rides, stops, and handles. We match the suspension and tires to the build so it still drives right, and we mount everything clean, sealed, and rub-free so it survives washboard instead of rattling apart in a season.
Every overland build includes
- An integrated build plan in the right order
- Racks and rooftop tents mounted to spec, roof sealed
- Drawer, power, and lighting wired, fused, and routed clean
- Suspension and tires matched to your loaded weight
- Everything torqued, sealed, and rub-free
- Loaded road test before pickup
- Lifetime warranty on the labor
Build it in the right order — and mind the weight
The difference between an overland rig that drives great and one that squats, wanders, and eats brakes is build order and payload. The most common mistake we fix is a truck loaded with a rooftop tent, drawers, water, and armor that blew right past its payload rating — now it rides rough, the headlights point up, and it is a handful in a crosswind. We plan the build around your actual weight and start with the suspension and tires so the rig can carry it, then add the rest on top.
From there it is racks and sleeping, then storage and power — a drawer system, a dual battery or solar, a fridge — all fused and wired to survive corrugations, with any roof penetrations properly sealed. Then armor and recovery so you can protect the underside and get unstuck. Done in that order, every piece supports the next; done backwards, you rebuild it twice.
| Stage | What it does | Watch |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Suspension & tires | Carry the load, clear terrain | Payload first |
| 2. Racks & rooftop tent | Sleep and carry up top | Weight up high |
| 3. Storage & power | Drawers, dual battery, fridge | Fuse & seal |
| 4. Armor & recovery | Protect and get unstuck | Ground clearance |
