Self-recovery on your Jeep, done right

A winch is essential self-recovery gear for a Jeep that actually wheels, but a bad install leads to blown fuses, weak pulls, and dangerous failures right when you need it. On a Jeep it has to mount to a winch-ready bumper or plate rated to pull the Jeep's full weight, get fed 2-gauge or larger wire straight to the battery — fused and routed clean — and run the right fairlead for your line. We set up both the wired and wireless remotes and test them, so you can self-recover from any position, not just standing at the bumper.

Sizing matters: most Wranglers want a 9,500 to 10,000-pound winch, and a heavier Gladiator or an armored rig wants 10,000 to 12,000. We prefer synthetic line over steel — lighter, safer if it fails, and easier to handle — and we spec the right winch, bumper, and line for how you wheel. Bring your own winch and we'll mount and wire it right, or we'll help you pick one.

Every Jeep winch install includes

  • Winch sized to your Jeep's loaded weight
  • 2-gauge or larger wiring straight to the battery, fused
  • Mounted to a bumper or plate rated for the load
  • Hawse or roller fairlead matched to your line
  • Wired and wireless remotes set up and tested
  • Synthetic line preferred (steel on request)
  • Load-tested in both directions before pickup
  • Lifetime warranty on the labor

Sizing, line, and whether you need a second battery

Three choices make or break a Jeep winch. Capacity: the rule is at least 1.5x the Jeep's loaded weight, so most Wranglers want 9,500–10,000 lb and a heavier Gladiator or armored rig wants 10,000–12,000. Line: we prefer synthetic over steel — lighter, safer if it fails, and easier to handle — paired with a hawse fairlead. Power: for occasional recovery a healthy battery and alternator are fine; if you winch hard and often, a second battery or a higher-output alternator keeps it pulling without stressing your electrical.

Get those three right and the winch works when you're buried and the weather's bad, which is the only time it matters. Bring your own winch and bumper and we'll spec the missing pieces and mount it right.

Why do your Jeep winch with us

Sized to Your Jeep
A Wrangler wants a 9,500 to 10,000-pound winch; a Gladiator or armored rig wants 10,000 to 12,000. We spec it to your Jeep's real weight so it's never underpowered when it counts.
2-Gauge Wiring to the Battery
Heavy 2-gauge or larger wire run straight to the battery, fused and routed clean away from heat and pinch points — no thin wire, no shortcuts.
Wired + Wireless Remotes
We set up and test both the wired and wireless remotes, so you can winch and self-recover from any position — inside the Jeep or out at the anchor.
Synthetic Line & Fairlead
We prefer synthetic rope over steel — lighter and safer if it fails — with a hawse fairlead to match. Steel and a roller fairlead on request.
🛡
Mounted to a Winch-Ready Bumper
The winch mounts to a bumper or plate rated to pull the Jeep's full weight. A stock bumper won't cut it; we install winch-ready bumpers and plates.
Lifetime Labor Warranty
Every Jeep winch install is backed by our lifetime warranty on the labor.
