Ram ProMaster 2500: 3-Inch Lift + Rear Sumo Springs

We built a 2020 Ram ProMaster 2500 with an Off Highway Vans 3-inch lift and a set of rear Sumo Springs — combining off-road clearance with the load stability a heavy, high-roof van needs. The lift gets it up; the Sumo Springs keep it planted and level under weight.

This ProMaster 2500 came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO for clearance and stability. A tall, heavy van benefits from more than just a lift — it needs help managing its weight, especially loaded. The 3-inch lift adds ground clearance, and the rear Sumo Springs add support that reduces sag, sway, and body roll, so the van rides level and controlled whether it is empty or packed for a trip.

Why Sumo Springs on a heavy van

The ProMaster carries its weight high and long, which makes it prone to sag and sway when loaded. Sumo Springs are progressive foam springs that add support to the rear suspension — they take up the slack under load, reduce body roll, and level the van out. On a heavy cargo or camper van, they make a noticeable difference in how planted and controlled it feels.

Clearance and control together

The 3-inch lift handles the off-road half — clearance and angles for rough roads — while the Sumo Springs handle the on-road half: stability under weight. Together they make the van both more capable and more composed. We stock and install rear Sumo Springs for the ProMaster chassis.

Common questions on this build

What do Sumo Springs do?

They are progressive foam springs that add support to the suspension under load, reducing sag, sway, and body roll. On a heavy van they improve stability and ride, loaded or empty.

Do I need Sumo Springs if I have a lift?

They do different jobs — a lift adds clearance, Sumo Springs add load stability. On a heavy van, pairing them gives you both capability and control.

Can you install them on my van?

Yes — front and rear Sumo Springs for the ProMaster, installed in-house.
