Safety First!

Thank you for purchasing our Juggernaut USA skid plate! This skid plate can be installed on the ground, but if you do decide to jack up your vehicle for more room to install NEVER go under the vehicle on jacks alone. Use appropriately rated jack stands to support your vehicle prior to going underneath it.
2

Remove Factory Skid Plates

Remove all factory skid plates including front skid plate even if you are retaining the factory front skid. These will be a combination of 15mm bolts and 13mm bolts. You will need to remove the factory clip nuts as well as they are metric and the provided clip nuts and bolts are SAE sizes. *If you are replacing the OEM front skid you will need to remove the front mounting brackets at the frame rail (see picture below for location)*

Steel Front Bracket Prep

Before we install the front two mounting brackets we want to install the provided 3/8 clip nuts on the brackets. The barrel side of the clip nut will be on the backside and installed on both the left and right bracket as shown below. It can be useful to use a small hammer to tap these clip nuts into place. The retaining clip on the clip nut will snap into place when centered over the hole on the brackets.

Install Front Brackets

Our front brackets mount to the frame rail underneath the intercooler mounting bracket and the location where the factory front bracket was removed. If these clip nuts and bolts are still in good condition they can be re-used with the factory bolts. The Ford OEM clip nuts are prone to breaking those so it is recommended you replace them with the provided (4) 3/8 clip nuts. Remove the intercooler brace one side at a time and install the brackets as shown. Leave these loose for now to allow adjustment to the skid. Pro Tip: Using a flat head screwdriver and a small hammer can make installing the clip nuts a breeze!
