This 2026 Winnebago Revel came into our Wheat Ridge bay for one of the best upgrades you can do to a heavy 4x4 camper van: a full Van Compass Stage 4.3 suspension system on the Sprinter 2500 AWD chassis. A loaded Revel is a heavy, tall vehicle on a factory suspension tuned for a cargo van, and the right system completely changes how it rides on washboard, dirt, and the highway.

Why the Baja bracket isn't optional
One detail on this build isn't an upsell, it's a requirement: the Baja bracket for the rear shocks. From the factory, the Sprinter mounts the top of the rear shock in single shear — the shock bolts to one side of a tab. That's fine for the soft factory shock, but the moment you put a real valved shock like the Falcon under it, the extra damping force works that single-shear mount back and forth until the metal fatigues and cracks. The Baja bracket boxes the mount into double shear, supporting the shock on both sides so the load is carried across the bolt instead of bending a single tab. On any upgraded-shock Sprinter, it's a must — skip it and a failed top mount is only a matter of time.
From a wind-blown wallow to a relaxing drive
The difference is night and day, and it shows up most on the highway. A tall, slab-sided Revel on the factory cargo-van suspension wallows — it leans and takes a set in corners, floats over dips, and gets shoved around by every crosswind gust and the bow wave off a passing semi. You end up sawing at the wheel just to hold it between the lines, and a long day behind it leaves you worn out. The Stage 4.3 system with Falcon shocks and matched springs takes that away: the shocks control the body motion so it stops wallowing, the springs settle the stance under all that gear and water weight, and the whole van simply tracks straight. Wind gusts and truck wakes become a small nudge instead of a fight, and a drive that used to be white-knuckle turns into a relaxed one — you arrive rested instead of wrung out. That's the upgrade owners feel every single mile, long before they ever leave the pavement. Off-road it's the same story: the Falcons soak up washboard and dirt-road chatter instead of pounding it into the cabin, and the added height and load support give a fully built Revel the room and control it needs.
Protect the underbody while you're at it
A van that's going to see forest-service roads and trailheads wants its underbody protected. On a Sprinter that means the engine, transmission, transfer case, and the exposed catalytic converter.
