We lifted a Winnebago Travato (on the Ram ProMaster chassis) with an Off Highway Vans 3-inch kit and fit BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrains — trimming the fenders to clear the larger tires. The lift plus the bigger rubber, done so it actually fits, turns a road camper into a real off-road machine.
This Travato came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO to get it off the pavement. The key detail on a build like this is fitment: a 3-inch lift makes room for a bigger tire, but the KO2s still need the fenders trimmed to clear at full turn and full compression. Doing that trimming cleanly is the difference between a van that rubs and one that just works.

Making the bigger tires fit
A lift creates vertical room, but tire clearance is also about width and turning. To run the KO2s without rubbing at full lock or full suspension travel, we trimmed the Travato's fenders so the tires clear in every position. It is the step that gets skipped on rushed builds — and the reason those vans rub or chew their fenders. Done right, the tires tuck cleanly and the van drives without a squeak.
Clearance where it counts
The 3-inch lift raises the whole van, improving ground clearance and approach and departure angles so it can actually get down a rough forest road. Paired with the all-terrains, the Travato goes from a road camper to one that can reach the places worth camping. Add underbody armor and it is protected too — we make the ProMaster front skid plate in-house.
Common questions on this build
Do you have to trim fenders to fit bigger tires on a ProMaster?
Usually, yes. A lift creates vertical room, but larger tires still need clearance at full turn and compression. Clean fender trimming is what keeps them from rubbing.
How big a tire fits a lifted Travato?
With a 3-inch lift and trimming, a full all-terrain like the KO2 fits well. The exact size depends on wheel offset — we spec it to clear.
Can you lift my Travato or ProMaster?
Yes — lift, tires, fitment, and armor, all done in-house.
