We designed and fabricated a one-off front winch bumper for a 3rd-gen Toyota Tacoma in-house — a tube hoop with an integrated mount for a WARN winch, a bolt-on center skid, D-ring shackle mounts, and a pair of LED pods, powder coated black. It carries a winch, opens the approach angle, and it is built for one specific truck, not adapted from a universal kit.
This build ran through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO. The customer wanted a real off-road front end for their 3rd-gen Tacoma — winch capability, recovery points, and lights — without the bulk of a heavy plate bumper. We drew it up, cut and bent the tube, welded the structure, built in the winch cradle and shackle mounts, and finished it in powder coat. Same in-house fabrication process behind our skid plates, pointed at a one-off bumper.

A custom tube bumper, built for this Tacoma
The tube design keeps the bumper light and open while still doing the real work — carrying a winch and giving the front end recovery points. We shaped the hoop to sit tight to the TRD grille and kept the wings trimmed back so the truck has a clean, aggressive face. Because it was cut and welded for this exact Tacoma, every mount lands on the factory frame points — no adapting a one-size bracket to make it fit.
Integrated winch mount and recovery points
The center of the bumper is built around a winch cradle, with the WARN winch mounted behind a bolt-on skid panel that carries our logo. Flanking it are D-ring shackle mounts, so the truck has proper recovery points front and center — not an afterthought clamped on later. The winch, the skid, and the shackle mounts are all part of one welded structure, which is what makes a custom bumper stronger and cleaner than bolt-together parts.
Lights and approach angle
Two LED pods with amber DRL rings sit inboard on the bumper for trail lighting and a distinct look. And because the tube design trims the front end back and up compared to the factory bumper, it opens the approach angle — the Tacoma climbs into ledges and obstacles instead of pushing a low plastic bumper into them. Winch, recovery, lights, and clearance in one piece.
Common questions on this build
Do you build custom bumpers, or just skid plates?
Both. Skid plates are what we make in volume, but we design and fabricate one-off pieces — winch bumpers, brackets, mounts — in the same shop with the same process.
Can a tube bumper still hold a winch?
Yes. The winch mounts to a welded cradle built into the bumper structure, so it is fully supported — the tube design just keeps the weight and bulk down around it.
Can you match a look I have in mind?
That is the point of custom work. Bring us a reference or a rough idea and we will design a bumper that fits your truck and does what you need.
