We designed and fabricated a one-off tube prerunner front bumper for a Chevy Silverado 1500 in-house — a bent-tube hoop with an integrated bolt-on center skid and a pair of round LED pod lights, all powder coated black. It cleans up the front end, opens the approach angle, and it is a true custom piece, not an off-the-shelf bumper.
This build came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO. The customer wanted a prerunner-style front bumper for their Silverado 1500 — nothing in a catalog fit the look they were after, so we built one. Everything you see here was drawn up, cut, bent, welded, and finished in our shop: the tube hoop, the mounting structure, the center skid panel, and the light mounts. This is the same in-house fabrication process behind our skid plates, pointed at a one-off bumper.

A custom prerunner bumper, built one-off
A prerunner bumper is about a clean, aggressive front end and a better line into obstacles. We shaped the tube hoop to sit tight to the body, tucked the mounting structure behind it, and kept the whole thing minimal so it looks purpose-built instead of bolted-on. Because we cut and welded it here rather than adapting a universal bumper, every mount lines up with this truck's frame — no shimming, no drilling to make a generic bracket work.
Integrated bolt-on center skid
The center of the bumper carries a bolt-on skid panel with our logo plasma-cut into it — the same kind of underbody protection work we build every day, integrated straight into the bumper. It shields the front of the truck behind the tube and gives the bumper a finished face. Because it bolts on, it comes off in minutes if it ever needs to.
Dual LED pod lights
Mounted to the hoop and sitting just ahead of the grille are two round LED pod lights with amber daytime-running rings. They put real light down the trail at night and give the front end its face during the day. We built the mounts into the bumper so the lights are held solid — no rattling brackets clamped to the tube.
Better approach angle
The prerunner shape does more than look good. Trimming the front end back and up opens the approach angle, so the truck climbs into obstacles and ledges without dragging a heavy factory bumper into them. Paired with the center skid, the front of this Silverado is both more capable and better protected than it was stock.
Common questions on this build
Do you build custom bumpers, or just skid plates?
Both. Skid plates are what we make in volume, but we design and fabricate one-off pieces — bumpers, brackets, mounts, and more — in the same shop with the same process.
Is a custom bumper better than a bolt-on one?
For fit and looks, yes. A bumper cut and welded for one specific truck lines up with the factory mounts and sits exactly where you want it, instead of compromising to fit many vehicles.
Can you match a look I have in mind?
That is the point of custom work. Bring us a reference or a rough idea and we will design something that fits your truck and does what you need.
