We installed a Rough Country roof-line LED light bar and mount on a Jeep Wrangler JL and wired it in clean — a big jump in trail lighting mounted up high where it throws the farthest, with a proper switched power source instead of a hacked-in harness.
This JL came through Juggernaut USA in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO for a lighting upgrade. A roof-line light bar is one of the most effective additions to a Wrangler: mounted at the top of the windshield it clears the hood glare and throws light far down the trail. The Rough Country mount picks up the factory bolts, and we ran the wiring so it powers cleanly off a switch — no exposed splices, no drilling the tub.

Roof-line light bar on a JL
Mounting the light bar at the top of the windshield puts it above the hood, so there is no reflected glare and the beam reaches far down the trail. The Rough Country mount bolts to the factory hard-top bolts, which keeps it solid and reversible. It is the cleanest place to add serious light to a Wrangler.
Wiring it right
A light bar is only as good as its wiring. We ran a proper harness to a switched source so the bar comes on with a real switch, fused and protected — not tapped into something it should not be. Done right, the wiring is invisible and the lights just work, every time, without draining the battery or flickering.
Common questions on this build
Where is the best place to mount a light bar on a Wrangler?
The roof line at the top of the windshield. It clears hood glare and throws light the farthest. A bumper-mounted bar is good for closer flood, but the roof bar is the long-range upgrade.
Do I need it professionally wired?
You want it fused, switched, and run cleanly so it is safe and reliable. A poorly wired light bar can flicker, blow fuses, or drain the battery. Wiring is where a clean install shows.
Can you add lighting to my Jeep?
Yes — light bars, pods, ditch lights, and the wiring to run them. We do it in-house so it is clean and reliable.
