FORD SKID PLATES

Ford is the platform we have built the most armor for, and it is where the factory gap is easiest to see. Even the trims that ship with skid protection — FX4, Tremor, Raptor — cover the front of the truck in thin stamped steel and leave the transmission, catalytic converters, transfer case and fuel tank open. Every plate here is 1/4-inch 5052-H32 aluminum, CNC plasma-cut and powder-coated in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, bolt-on with no drilling, lifetime warranty.

One Ford-specific note worth knowing: the F-150's factory transmission shield is a felt-like composite, not metal. It soaks up water, sags, and eventually drags — one of the most common underbody complaints on owner forums, and the reason a lot of people end up here. Replacing it with the same part gets you the same failure; a bolt-on aluminum plate ends it permanently.
