Protect your rockers — or step into a lifted rig

Your rocker panels are the widest, lowest, most expensive-to-fix part of the body — and the first thing that catches on a rock, a rut, or a log. Rock sliders bolt or weld to the frame and take that hit, so the truck slides over the obstacle instead of crushing sheet metal. They double as a step to climb in, a jack and high-lift point, and a solid place to anchor a recovery.

And if you just want an easier way in, that is side steps. We install running boards and nerf bars, and electric retracting power steps — AMP Research PowerStep and similar — that drop down when you open the door and tuck up out of the way when you drive, wired into the doors and ignition. Sliders for protection, steps for comfort, or a slider that does both. On Jeeps, Tacomas, 4Runners, Broncos, trucks, and vans.

Every rock slider job includes

  • Mounted to the frame with the correct hardware, or welded
  • Door and body clearance verified
  • Usable step, jack, and high-lift points
  • Power steps wired to the doors and ignition (if equipped)
  • Finish protected and touched up as needed
  • Fitment confirmed and road-tested
  • Lifetime warranty on the labor

Rock sliders vs side steps — which do you need?

These two get lumped together but they do different jobs. A rock slider is armor: it protects your rocker panels and lets the truck slide up and over a rock or log instead of crushing sheet metal, and it doubles as a jack point, a step, and a recovery anchor. A side step — a running board, nerf bar, or electric power step — is about getting in and out easily, especially once a lift puts the cab up high. Some people want one, some want the other, and plenty want both.

The mounting is where they differ. A rock slider that is meant to take a hit should mount to the frame, bolt-on or welded, so the load goes into the frame instead of your body. A side step is usually body- or rocker-mounted, and that is perfectly fine — it is not there to take a rock, it is there to hold your weight as you climb in. We install both the right way for what they are, keep your doors clearing and the finish protected, and pair sliders with skid plates and bumpers for full protection.

Why get your sliders from us

Sliders to the Frame
A rock slider meant to take a hit mounts to the frame, bolt-on or welded — that is what makes it real protection and not just trim.
Bolt-On or Welded
Bolt-on for most rigs and easy service, welded for maximum strength on hard-use builds — we do both.
Step, Jack & Recovery
A step to climb in, a jack and high-lift point, and a solid anchor for a recovery strap.
Lifetime Labor Warranty
Every rock slider job is backed by our lifetime warranty on the labor.
Electric Power Steps
AMP Research PowerStep and other retracting steps that drop when you open the door and tuck away when you drive — mounted and wired clean.
Sliders or Steps
Frame-mounted armor that takes a hit, a comfortable running board or power step to climb in, or a slider that does both — we install all of it.
