2021+ F-150 XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims have an active air dam — the small flap below the front bumper that lowers automatically at highway speeds to improve aerodynamics.
If you have a 2021 or newer F-150 in one of those trims, select "Has Active Air Dam." Base XL and STX trims, and all 2015–2020 trucks, do not have it.
Good news: the active air dam is removable. Taking it off lets our skid plate cover more of the underbody for maximum protection — a popular choice for off-road and overland builds.

Great product! Y’all should know however I had to take off 3/8” of an inch on the transfer case plate back end where it’s turned up - ran into the frame cross member - left an 1/8” gap when tightened up - could have possibly taken another 1/8” off but will see if it rattles first - older photos don’t show this turned up portion on your website? - perhaps my 2026 F-150 Supercab/ 6 1/2 foot bed truck is different on where the frame cross member is positioned? I have a few pictures if you’re interested - let Matt know I’m the older guy who stopped in and picked up most of the plates and you shipped me the transmission plate a few weeks back - live out west here in Parachute, CO - call if you want or have questions [****] thanks for making a great product here in Colorado- kudos!

Hardware too that came with it was great as well better then ford factory hardware! Install was easy hardest part was removing fords cheap stuff and dealing with all of that. Do I need one if I mostly drive on the street?

Does it fit the PowerBoost hybrid & lifted trucks?
Yes — select your engine in the FIT tab (PowerBoost has its own plate). Bolts to factory mount points, so leveling kits and lifts are no issue.
Does it change ground clearance?
It mounts flush to the factory crossmembers, so any change is minimal — you gain protection without meaningfully lowering the truck.
Will it affect cooling or airflow?
No. The plates are cut with airflow and oil-drain access in mind, so engine and transmission cooling are unaffected.
