A Trail Boss (Chevy) or AT4 (GMC) already comes with a roughly 2-inch factory lift up front — it’s essentially leveled from the showroom. The trucks that benefit from a kit are the base WT, Custom, and LT, which leave the factory nose-down. We’ll tell you straight which camp yours is in.
For the trucks that do need it, a level is the most-requested first mod for a reason — it squares up the stance and clears a bigger tire without touching the ride, the towing, or the powertrain warranty. The part people underestimate is the wheel-and-tire pairing: the level sets the height, but the right wheel offset is what makes a 33 tuck in clean instead of poking out past the fenders or rubbing at full lock. Trail Boss and AT4 already sit leveled
The most honest thing we can tell a lot of Silverado and Sierra owners is that they don’t need a leveling kit — a Trail Boss or AT4 already ships with a ~2-inch factory front lift. If you want that truck to sit even taller you’re really talking about a small lift, not a level. The trucks a leveling kit actually helps are the base WT, Custom, and LT, which leave the factory nose-down.
On the 2019+ coil-over front we level with a preload spacer or a leveling coilover, and once you go taller we run Cognito GM-specific upper control arms so the front-end geometry and alignment stay correct. The Duramax nose gets specced for the extra weight. A level clears up to a 33, and we align and recalibrate every one.
